It's been a while... here's an update from the Adventurists Jibber, an adventury newsletter that will be posted here and sent to you by email if you sign up to the Adventurists website and mailing list.
Amongst other things you'll find a quick Mongol Rally and Rickshaw Run update and the launch of a really rather fetching range of adventurists clothing! Oh, and the Mongol Rally will be on the telly box this Saturday night, ITV2.
THE BIG STUFF
Attire fit for an Adventurist
Sensible jumper in a neutral pastel shade from your local ramblers shop sir? No, no, no. When there's an angry man with a gun spraying your face with the spittle of pure rage and you're not sure what you did to make him so upset, you need to be looking dapper.
You can't be in the thick of an adventure wandering if you'll ever get home and suddenly realise you look like an outdoor clothing catalogue model from 1985. One must wear clothing appropriate to the task at hand. Behold the adventurists most amazing shop has arrived, leading with the brand new clothing range. Here's a snippet of the fine garments available:

Rickshaw Run Update
The Rickshaw Run is getting seriously popular, so now there are two mighty Runs every year, one at around Christmas time and another one around June-ish. All the places for the Run this Christmas have been snapped up, but fear not, it's only a few months until the mighty auto-rickshaws are fired up again!
The start date for the Rickshaw Run Summer 2008 will be 1st June 2008.
The places will be available soon, and all the information about nabbing a spot will be sent out to the Rickshaw Run mailing list at the end of this month. The places are probably going to sell out again pretty sharpish so if you're interested in taking on the sub-continent in a three-wheeled death can, head on over to www.rickshawrun.com
Mongol Rally Update
The 2007 rally was an absolute stonker, and all the best stories, photos and fascinating facts will be chucked up on the website over the next couple of weeks.
Anyone interested in seeing the rally on the telly box can catch the programme on Saturday night if you have access to ITV2. A young fellow called Jack Osbourne did the rally with some mates and took his camera crew along for the ride. You can see the results this Saturday.
If it's all too much and you simply must spend next summer charging across deserts in a shitbox you'll be pleased to hear the Mongol Rally 08 is launching soon. The first batch of places will be available online in the next couple of weeks. Tune in to the Mongol Rally mailing list for all the information you need by signing up on www.mongolrally.com
OTHER STUFF IN OCTOBER
Just as important, but found in the depths of the newsletter where only the hardiest will still be reading.
The Adventurists Magazine
We are launching an online magazine covering the whole wide world of adventurism and we're looking for people who can wax lyrical. We're looking for people willing to write regularly as well as those who just have something to say now and then. As usual we are working on half a shoe string to get it up and running but if you fancy writing or helping us with the content get in touch on [email protected]
Your Adventures
It's still very, very early days for this one, but we are looking for people who want their own adventures featured on our gradually growing collection of websites dedicated to making life less boring and raising cash for awesome charities. If you're planning your own adventure and would like a ready made audience of people to laugh at your exploits, drop us a line with some details about what you're up to and we can see if a happy union of shameless adventurism is possible.
New events from The Adventurists
Coffee is being spilt over maps, plans are being hatched and ridiculous ideas are being twisted to make them sound almost feasible. We're launching another adventure very soon and expect proper details to be ready for the next edition of the adventurists jibber.
That's it for now.
