There are still a few spots left for Afternoon Tea with Benedict Allen this Sunday (5th April) in Bristol, UK, and everyone is welcome. (Also check out the details below if you find yourself in Bristol on Saturday night and in urgent need of a locally brewed ale.)
All you need to do is click here or the picture of Mr Benedict to book your two free places so you can introduce someone else to the fight to make the world less boring. We will be checking the seat reservations on Sunday morning to make sure we have everyone's names.
Expect some impressive drumrolls from actual drummers, some splendid cakes and tales of extreme adventuring from the very top drawer of remote exploration.
Benedict Allen is undoubtedly one of the finest explorers of our age, with 25 years of most impressive endeavours under his belt.
From undergoing, at the age of 24, a harrowing "crocodile" male initiation ceremony in Papua New Guinea in which he and indigenous initiates were locked away, force-fed, extensively scarified over their chest and back and beaten everyday in the traditional manner for six weeks, to tackling the Bering Strait during the coldest Siberian winter in 40 years and being shot at by drug barons in the Amazon, Benedict Allen has explored some of the most inhospitable regions of the planet.
