The time has almost come to nab yourself a highly coveted place on the Winter 2010 Rickshaw Run.
A little bit of information for those of you who have been watching the current Rickshaw Run in all its piston melting goodness and as a result have been eagerly awaiting the sign up for the Winter 2010 Rickshaw Run. We are pleased to let you know that this will take place this Thursday.
What more could you want to recover from Christmas Day in all its knitted jumper glory than the opportunity to charge (wobble) forth (sort of) in a trusty steed known as a ‘rickety shaw’. Starting in the middle of the Himalayas in Pokhara Nepal on the 1st January after a New Years Eve party to remember (or not), and finishing a piffling 2 weeks later in Cochin India we bring to you the Winter Rickshaw Run 2010.
Sign up will open at 14:00 BST on Thursday 30th April. Places will be allocated on a first come first served basis. To stand a chance of nabbing a spot, you will need a user account and need to be logged in at sign up time. Oh and a stiff gin and tonic tends not to go amiss at such junctures.
Log into the website and click on Adventure Sign Up at the magic hour of 14:00 where you can see details of the Winter Rickshaw Run where you will be able to register a team provided you are quick enough (the autumn 2009 event sold out in 38 seconds).
Only one person needs to register the team. Additional team members can be added at a later date.
You will need to pay the £895 entry fee to secure the place. If your payment is declined by Google Checkout, do not fear, but contact your bank and explain what you are doing. By then updating your payment details in Google Checkout your payment should go through.
If you log in to find there are no spaces left, don't give up but add yourself to the waiting list as after the initial carnage of sign up, places do come available (there are always a number of people who get a spot, but do not take it up). You will be emailed if you are awarded a spot from the waiting list.
