---------------------------------

From team Great Ball's of Fur's constant exhibitionism to roads and bridges being washed away, cars falling apart, teams getting very lost and very stuck and ripped off on ferries the 2009 rally is dishing out adventure with a spade.

And with the earth still shaking from the rumbles of the Mongol Rally 2009 as teams get stuck and lost all over the world, the seed has been planted for the next mighty oak of adventure - The Mongol Rally 2010.

With requests flooding in from all over the world asking about the adventuring world's biggest and silliest adventure in a granny-mobile, we have been pestered into setting a date for the grabbing of a place on the soon to be infamous Mongol Rally 2010. So here it is...

Round 1
September 1st 2009 at 2pm B.S.T.

Round 2
September 5th 2009 8pm B.S.T

So flex your mouse fingers cos the places vanished in under 2 minutes last year.

But in all this finger waggling, adventure chasing furore, don't forget all the very good people of this fair world who benefit each year from the charitable efforts of our mischeveous explorers. This year's Official Mongol Rally Charities as in every year past, will be dispensing donations all over Mongolia - and with the worst winter, and uncommonally wet summer the country has had, they're going to need it more than ever. The three charities for 2009 are The Children and Young People's Protection and Development NGO of Mongolia (CYPPD), The Christina Noble Children's Foundation (CNCF), and Mercy Corps. You can find out more about them all at mongolrally.com and you can donate to any team's fundraising efforts on the Mongol Rally website on the team pages or via the tracking map.

Other news: The Africa Rally competition has now closed and the winner of a free place on this beast of African adventures will be announced on Friday 28th August.

In our ever expanding quest to fix the earth, we said we would mention these chaps, who got in touch to tell us about the spiffing job they do with their charity for the beduoin of the Sinai Peninsula. To find out about how you can volunteer or get involved in their deserty shennanigans building schools, dams, camel stations and generally making life better for the nomads who live in the Sinai, go to makhad.org

That's all for now.
