The Rickshaw Run teams are rolling in in their droves now! Teams have confronted all obstacles that stand in their way – including roadside barriers.
Indeed despite a rather nasty conversation with one of those barriers team Winner Winner Chicken Dinner crossed the finish line a few hours later. While they're not the winner for arriving first, they sounded happy:
"The chicken has landed, I repeat, the chicken has landed! Pulled into Pondicherry almost 10 days to the minute from Kathmandu. Anyone for a cold, tasty beverage?"
Unicorn Power came in soon after made it with mainly one thought in mind, "Second I guess. Have beer first." – Here here!
But the tempting cool of a tasty beverage still awaits many of the Run's wearisome travelers. Having handled the demands for photos and autographs and a battery that looked like a marshmallow A Lovely Cup Of Tea were only met by further ado:
"Interesting day. Spent 5 hours waiting while an incompetent mechanic destroyed the electrics, spent next 3 hours driving in the dark with only the headlight working. somehow made it to vijaywada where Chris managed to flip the rickshaw leaving a hotel car park- no one hurt, so all good fun."
Oh dear! Will they make it Pondi and follow in the footsteps of those already settled into one of many nights of luxury!? Of course they will!
Last word today from the Loony Lassis – "no break down today - yippee! Top speed very slow but getting there."
