For six glorious mayhem-filled years The Adventurists' teams have been filming their mischievous, daring and often downright shocking exploits.
The first ever Film Festival was held in March 2010 at the mighty fine Coronet Cinema in Notting Hill, London. It was a barnstorming showcase of the very finest of these films made while thundering across continents in ridiculously unsuitable vehicles
The mac daddy of adventure films Benedict Allen gave a brilliant talk on the day. As the pioneer of filming authentic journeys for television he has made 6 TV series for the BBC, written 10 books and been described as “part of television history” by the Director General of the BBC. A proper legend of adventure.
There was also an exclusive screening of two episodes from Wild Rides; a documentary about the Mongol Rally and Rickshaw Run that has been commissioned by Nat Geo International.
The first ever Film Festival was won by Igor D'India and his team and their film about the Mongol Rally 2009 called 'The Y-10 Diaries'. Soon you'll be able to watch his incredible film and all the other shortlisted entries online. Keep an eye on the monthly Jibber for updates.
2010 - A tip-top first edition
This was the first ever Adventurists Film Festival and it turned out to be a corker. Among the many adventurists that came along were a few fine folk who are busy sucecssfully avoiding proper day jobs and spending their time getting lost and in trouble all over the world for a living. Here's what they thought of the inaugural festival:
"It was a joy to see such enthusisasm for adventure and lunacy all captured in the spirit of DIY film-making. Long may it continue!"
Lois Pryce - Motorcycling Adventurer

"The film festival was an impossible concoction of human endeavour from the superbly sublime to the utterly bizarre; a great laugh from start to finish."
Dan Martin - Extreme Athlete (Global Triathlon chap)

"Show me another event where you can see rickshaw crashes, second-hand fire engines being cut in half and see pictoral proof that giraffes sometimes flirt with camels, and I'll be there in a jiffy. It had me all wound up and ready to plan another adventure. When's the next one, please?"
Dave Cornthwaite - Adventurer

"I was lucky enough to attend The Adventurists Film Festival a couple of weekends ago. I knew that anything dreamt up by the folks behind the Mongol Rally, Rickshaw Run and Mototaxi Junket was bound to be an event not to miss. I was right.
The films shown on the day were brilliant, my personal favourite being the Great Balls of Fur film about driving a fire engine to Mongolia.
The legend that is Benedict Allen gave us some excellent tips on filming adventures and Buddy showed us just what happens on the Rickshaw Run. A great afternoon all round."
Mark Kalch - Adventurer

"Enjoyed immensely - good work guys!"

We also invited feedback on our Adventurists Facebook Page and some people said some really rather ruddy good things about the festival!
"Thank you for a wonderful Saturday watching films that have brought on a very early mid-life crisis. Brilliant location, great films, amazing speaker. If it's the last thing I do I will own a one-humped, one-eyed camel to travel around London on. Also thanks to everyone in the pub afterwards... for being lovely to the (as yet) rally virgin."
Clare M
"Really enjoyed the film festival on Saturday - brilliant and inspiring stuff. I'm still chuckling at Buddy writing EAT and POO on his knuckles. Looking forward to afternoon tea in a few weeks."
Rebecca P
"It was excellent. Loved being able to see the films, particularly of the other adventures. Mongol Rally down, Rickshaw Run next...been inspired! Perfect venue too. Well done chaps."
Mo M
"Loved it and a few friends who couldn't make it want to see the films after I was raving about them ...."
