The brave Mongol Rally 2009 teams launching from Spain this summer will set off on their 16,000 kilometre journey to Mongolia from Barcelona.
An estimated 100 teams will come together in the Catalonian capital to say farewell to family and friends as they set off on this humdinger of an adventure across mountain, river and steppe.
The Barcelona based hospitality and events company Armitage Chacon will be arranging a splendid send off for the intrepid adventurers as they set out on one of greatest adventures in the world.
For the last two years, the Mongol Rally has used Madrid as its Spanish launch pad. However, in the spirit of all things change and due to popular demand by the majority of Spanish teams, the launch site has this year been changed to Barcelona.
We are absolutely sure that this year's launch will live up to the great standards set by the Mongol Rally launches in the past two years and look forward to hearing more from all those teams setting off from Spain about all their un-preparations or otherwise!
